Study for the project of the Integrated Logistics System and the Marketing Action Plan for Container Transportation in the Republic of Kazakhstan – Current Administrative and Market Conditions of Transportation Sector in Azerbaijan
Reviewing the current conditions of trade and logistics in Azerbaijan, mainly via railway and sea (through the Caspian Sea), including trade profiles and current conditions of transportation efficiency, was our main focus. The main challenge was to collect feedback from all involved parties via interviews with enterprises and state administration and then analyse and homogenise all information collected.
The main objective of the Study was to examine the overall freight transport and logistics market in Kazakhstan and to develop a marketing plan for container transportation in this country serving domestic needs, external trade and transit through Kazakhstan, originating in third countries. The countries examined within this Study are the Islamic Republic of Iran, Azerbaijan and China.
As far as our role in this project is concerned, we were assigned with the following tasks:
- Τo review the current conditions of trade and logistics in Azerbaijan, mainly via railway and sea (through the Caspian Sea), including trade profiles and current conditions of transportation efficiency. The review included interviews with enterprises, public authorities and other parties concerned.
- Τo review the current situation regarding various transportation sub-sectors and government undertakings on each transport mode and infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
- Τo review the current situation regarding trade and transit through Azerbaijan, as well as examine the current situation of trade administration mechanisms used by the Government, such as customs and trade control systems.
