Our main concern was to develop a database providing an overview of all spending during the 2000-2006 programming period, and more specifically examine where expenditure was focused and spent on.
The main objective of the study was to establish a database on ERDF and CF commitment data at NUTS 2 and 3 level. The aim of the database was to provide an overview of all spending during the 2000-2006 programming period, and more specifically examine where expenditure was focused and spent on.
Our team was responsible for all necessary data collection in Greece and Cyprus. More specifically, we primarily performed a feasibility check regarding the data availability, which was followed by the actual data collection on the commitment of ERDF and CF at NUTS 2 and NUTS 3 level. Furthermore, we collected the latest possible data on all payments made, as well as on the degree of absorption of funding, specified per programme. At the same time, we filled in the gaps in available data and verified the final dataset. Finally, we, also, provided meta-data for the commitment, expenditure and absorption data and we assessed the commitment data regarding their appropriateness for estimating expenditure data.
