One more success for SYSTEMA in the Western Balkans region. We are part of the consortium, led by Planet S.A, which will implement “Infrastructure Project Facility 10 (IPF 10)” Technical Assistance, awarded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and financed by the European Commission.
The purpose of this Technical Assistance operation, with a total budget of 24.5 million EUR, is to support the preparation and implementation of priority investment projects in the Western Balkans, to be financed by a combination of grants and loans. It includes infrastructure projects in Energy, Environment, Social, Transport and Digital Economy sectors.
The Facility constitutes a part of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), which was launched in December 2009 by the European Commission, together with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) – the partner IFIs, and the bilateral donors. AFD, KfW and the World Bank Group (WBG) joined the Framework at a later stage.
The beneficiary countries of IPF10 will be Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo*, Montenegro and Serbia.
IPF10 Consortium will provide expert technical assistance services for the execution of projects such as technical assistance, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, support for the tendering process and other services or specific sectoral studies in the field of infrastructure.
Systema will be offering 2 out of 3 Key Experts of the team, namely Yanni Papapanagiotou, Managing Director of SYSTEMA in the position of Deputy Team Leader and Transport Sector Project Manager and David Kelly, Water Sector Director of SYSTEMA, as Key Expert for Environment Sector.
*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244(1999) and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
